The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque tour is a half day of three to four hours in a private chauffeur-driven vehicle, from AED 500 for the car rather than per person. It starts at your Abu Dhabi hotel or address, gives you as long as you want inside the mosque with the car waiting outside, and returns along the Corniche. Entry to the mosque is free — there is no ticket to buy — but there is a dress code, and the mosque sets its own visiting hours, which change on Fridays and through Ramadan.

How long is the tour?
Three to four hours door to door. Most of that is yours: the drive out is about 15 to 25 minutes from the city centre, the visit takes as long as you take, and the Corniche on the way back is as short or as long as you want it to be. What is the dress code at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque?
Loose clothing covering the arms and the legs, for men and women, and a headscarf covering the hair for women. Tight or transparent fabric is not accepted and there is a dress check at the visitor entrance. We go through this with you when we confirm the booking — being turned away at the gate would waste the whole morning, and it is entirely avoidable.
Do we need tickets for the mosque?
No. Entry to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is free, which is why this tour lists no entrance tickets as an exclusion. Registration for a timed entry slot is sometimes required in busy seasons and it is also free; we tell you when your date needs one and how to get it.

The Grand Mosque is the one thing every visitor to Abu Dhabi sees, and the one thing most of them see badly: dropped at a car park in the heat, hurried through by a schedule, and back on a coach before the light gets good. A half day with your own car fixes all three. You go when the mosque is quietest, you stay as long as you want, and the vehicle is waiting where you were left rather than somewhere in a field of parked buses.
Your chauffeur collects you from your Abu Dhabi address, drives to the visitor entrance and waits with the car while you are inside — no meter running, no waiting charge at the end. When you come out, the way home runs along the Corniche, which is the other half of the reason to do this by car: eight kilometres of seafront that a coach passes and a private vehicle can stop on.
Two practical points. The mosque's dress code is enforced at the entrance — arms and legs covered, loose clothing, a headscarf for women — and we go through it with you when we confirm, because being turned back at the gate is the one thing this booking exists to prevent. And the visiting hours move: Friday mornings are reserved for worshippers and Ramadan has its own timetable, so we check the current hours for your date rather than printing a schedule that may have changed.

We collect you at your Abu Dhabi address and drive to the visitor entrance of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Early is best: the light is kinder, the courtyards are emptier and the photographs are the ones you hoped for. Your chauffeur parks and stays with the vehicle for as long as you are inside, so there is no clock on the visit and nothing to carry.

It adds a little to the day and it is the reason most guests remember this half day as an afternoon out rather than an errand.

Your chauffeur is a professional ITC-licensed driver, not a licensed tourist guide. They know the roads, the parking and which door to use, and they will answer what they can — but they do not deliver commentary inside the monuments. Bring your own guide and we will carry them as one of your passengers.
Meals and anything you buy
Lunch, coffee and whatever you pick up along the way are yours. There is no set lunch stop on this day: tell your chauffeur when you are hungry, name a restaurant or ask for one near the next stop, and the car waits while you eat.

When is the best time to go?
Early morning, for the light and the quiet, or late afternoon before sunset, which is the other good hour. Friday mornings are reserved for worshippers and the mosque keeps different hours through Ramadan, so we check the current times for your date and build the pickup around them rather than the other way round.
Can we add another stop to the half day?
Yes, within reason: Qasr Al Watan, Emirates Palace or Wahat Al Karama fit a half day comfortably if you are not lingering. Tell your chauffeur or ask when you book — if what you actually want is three or four stops, the full-day city tour is both cheaper per stop and less rushed, and we will say so.
How many people can come?
One to seven, depending on the vehicle: up to three in an executive sedan, four in a luxury SUV and seven in a luxury van. The price is for the vehicle rather than per seat, so a family of five pays what a couple in the same van pays.
What does AED 500 include?
The vehicle and the chauffeur for the half day, fuel, tolls, parking at the mosque and all the waiting time while you are inside. Entry to the mosque is free, so there is nothing else to pay on the day. Anything you buy — a coffee, lunch on the Corniche — is yours, and the final figure follows the vehicle class you choose.
How far ahead should I book?
A day ahead is comfortable and same-day is often possible. Peak season mornings go first, and if your date falls in Ramadan or on a Friday we will tell you the visiting hours before you commit rather than after.
